Alberta is known for its energy sector, but the tech industry is still young and fragile. Tech companies in Alberta hope that the tech field will become competitive enough with other provinces as it pivots to the said blooming sector.
Despite the sudden surge in revenue and staffing in the technology sector during the pandemic, tech firms are hoping that the local government will allocate some budget to clear policies and programs that will foster the industry.
