The Digital Overdose Response System (DORS) app was introduced to Albertans in the summer of 2021. It aims to save lives by immediately sending alerts to first responders if a substance user has had inactivity within the app’s pre-set timer feature.
The app has a good purpose, but some pointed out its obvious flaws, one of which is Vog App Developers’ CEO, Vince O’Gorman. In his interview, he said he noticed multiple glitches on the app.
He added that his primary concern is that the app does not use the web mapping feature, which will provide the accurate location of the substance user, which is most important in the rescue operation should there be an emergency.
